Description:
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager with expertise in the aerospace or aviation industry to lead our procurement efforts. This role involves managing supplier relationships, optimizing costs, and overseeing contract negotiations to ensure timely, high-quality product delivery.

The Purchasing Manager will also lead a team of buyers, manage inventory and cost controls, and drive continuous improvement by analyzing procurement data and implementing strategic enhancements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in operations, production, and finance to align procurement strategies with business goals and ensure all procurement activities comply with company standards and policies.

Duties: 
  1. Develop and maintain supplier networks, negotiate favorable terms, and address performance issues.
  2. Ensure the procurement of high-quality products that meet specifications and industry standards.
  3. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of buyers, setting performance expectations and fostering a growth-oriented environment.
  4. Oversee inventory levels to avoid shortages or excesses, and control costs without sacrificing quality.
  5. Drive improvements in cost, quality, on-time delivery, and lead-time reductions.
  6. Continuously review and improve purchasing processes for greater efficiency.
  7. Stay informed on industry trends and emerging suppliers, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  8. Collaborate with production, logistics, finance, and sales teams to align procurement strategies with business goals.
  9. Analyze procurement data, identify trends, and report regularly on supplier performance and team metrics.
  10. Draft and manage supplier contracts, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with legal and industry standards.

Requirements: 
  1. Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field or equivalent experience.
  2. At least two years of purchasing or procurement experience within the aerospace or aviation industry.
  3. Proven track record in sourcing and negotiating with suppliers.
  4. Familiarity with Salesforce is highly desirable.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
  6. Experience managing high volumes of purchase orders.
  7. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain supplier and customer relationships.
  8. Experience training staff on procedures and supporting department objectives and KPIs.

Experience:

  1. Aerospace: 2 years (Required)
  2. Purchasing: 2 years (Required)
  3. Salesforce: 1 year (Preferred)

Compensation: $85,000-$120,000 plus excellent benefits
