Human Resources Associate/Business Partner

Position Summary
A leading law firm with offices across California is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day people operations and contribute to the development of a cohesive, engaged, and high-performing workforce. This role offers an opportunity to grow professionally while making an impact in a collaborative, service-oriented environment.
You will work closely with the administrative leadership team to provide hands-on HR support in areas such as employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits coordination, performance management, compliance, and general HR administration.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Serve as a first point of contact for HR-related inquiries and provide thoughtful, solutions-oriented support
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring compliance and a smooth experience for employees
- Maintain HR records, ensure data integrity across systems, and support reporting needs
- Assist with benefits administration, employee engagement programs, and compliance tracking
- Support recruiting coordination and help manage candidate experience throughout the hiring process
- Partner with leadership on HR initiatives that foster firm culture, recognition, and retention
- Ensure adherence to employment laws, policies, and HR best practices
You Bring
- 2–5 years of experience in human resources, preferably in a professional services or legal environment
- Strong working knowledge of California labor law and HR compliance
- A service-minded, proactive approach to employee support and problem solving
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus strong attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems; familiarity with payroll/benefits platforms a plus
