Position: Litigation/Legal Assistant
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, 91207
Job Summary: We are actively seeking an experienced Litigation/Legal Assistant. A collaborative and flexible work environment necessitates the ability to adapt to multiple roles in a small office, have attention to detail, and the ability to get along and work well with a fun and diverse team. The position is full-time hybrid/remote, with the option of working in-person and are expected in the office 1x a month. This legal firm maintains a very flexible workplace approach. Work-Life balance is very important. Exact work location issues will be discussed and determined in the hiring process.
The ideal candidate must possess strong word processing skills, good technical skills, and be able to prioritize competing tasks. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively manage multiple cases and work for multiple attorneys (3-4). This individual will communicate frequently with courts, service providers, and clients. Strong communication skills are necessary.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support
- Handle communication with attorneys, courts, service providers, and clients
- Work on matters involving court-based litigation and disputes being resolved with various administrative agencies
- eFiling in both State and Federal courts.
- Calendaring, researching court rules/local rules/judge’s rules, and ability to cross-check calendaring using software such as Milana.
- Duties also may include the following tasks: travel arrangements, expense reports, entering attorney's timesheets, and other administrative and executive assistant type duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with law, legal procedures, and protocols
- 5+ years of prior experience as a Legal Assistant in a litigation environment preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook program
- Position requires critical thinking skills, strong written and verbal communication abilities, attention to detail, proof-reading skills, and ability to multi-task.
Compensation: $36-$47/hour DOE plus benefits
