Job Opening: Part-Time Resource Teacher for Elementary School 

Location: Sherman Oaks, CA

Start Date: August 2025

Schedule: Part-Time: Monday-Thursday 7:45am to 1:00PM Friday 7:45am-12PM, but TBD and flexible. 

Provide resources and support for 3rd-5th grade students in elementary grades in the general studies curriculum. And, be an active participate of the School Student Support Services/Shared Resources team.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • In coordination with Resources team and grade level teachers, teach and assist in planning, development, and coordination of student support services programs for 3rd-5th grades;
  • Provide and promote a welcoming and supportive learning environment, in which Emek students are inspired, supported, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential within the context of their school, community and society.
  •  Model and implement inclusive values and practices when teaching.
  • In collaboration with administration and other specialists, implement directed plans for targeted interventions to students with learning gaps and/or in need of enrichment.
  • Apply information obtained about performance to improve performance gaps and increase student overall performance and parent satisfaction.
  • Actively participate in the enrollment and testing process including classroom visitation and observation; and report findings to department heads for the decision-making process.
  • Total involvement with the IEP process:
a. Write the parent letter, walk the parent through the whole process, provide scores,
report cards, SST notes, make sure teachers turn in the questionnaires, go to the IEP
and then summarize the results and the accommodations; provide these to
the Admin, teachers, Resource Specialists, and School Counselor
b. Go to the 3-year IEP's, and do the write ups for the teachers and the parents.
c. Meet with the LAUSD Private School Consultant, to update IEP info and go to the
annual Services Plan meeting for each IEP student. This can be done in person or on
zoom.
d. Read IEP's of incoming students as well as private evaluations and summarize the
information.
e. Read IEP's of potential students and give my thoughts as to if Emek would be a good
fit.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Education. Plus if it's in Special Education. 
Compensation: $35,000-40,000
