Position: Operations Manager

Position Overview
As an Operations Manager, you are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of your designated branch. Your role is critical in ensuring operational excellence, meeting key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient workplace. Success in this role requires strong leadership, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to streamline processes while supporting your team.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
● Make daily decisions that improve branch efficiency, including resource allocation, zoning practices, and workflow improvements.
● Proactively identify and implement process enhancements to maximize productivity.
● Manage branch operations with minimal oversight, demonstrating sound judgment and autonomy. Workforce & Scheduling
● Approve timesheets and create driver schedules aligned with business and platform needs.
● Oversee dispatching supervisors and drivers, setting clear expectations and accountability.
● Foster a culture of performance and continuous improvement by providing clear targets, coaching, and feedback.
Compliance & Administration
● Ensure completion of all required employee paperwork (e.g., I-9s) and maintain accurate personnel records.
● Enforce compliance with labor laws, including breaks, overtime, and safety standards.
● Oversee petty cash and office organization, ensuring smooth administrative operations.
Driver Support & Safety
● Serve as a primary point of support for drivers, ensuring they have resources and guidance to succeed.
● Promote and enforce safe driving practices to maintain high safety scores.
● Conduct training programs, including wheelchair safety and sensitivity certifications. Fleet & Fuel Management
● Oversee fleet maintenance, inspections, and cleaning schedules to ensure safety and operational reliability.
● Coordinate preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and costs.
● Monitor fuel and gas card usage to prevent misuse and track efficiency.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
● Track and analyze branch KPIs such as acceptance rate, cancellation rate, fulfillment, and utilization.
● Provide regular reports and insights to upper management, highlighting successes and opportunities for improvement.
● Take corrective action when metrics fall below expectations.
Disciplinary Action & Coaching
● Apply disciplinary actions fairly and consistently (warnings, suspensions, terminations) in line with company policy.
● Provide continuous coaching and support to help team members improve performance.
Tools & Technology
● Leverage operational and fleet management software effectively, including:
○ Paylocity (HR & payroll)
○ Google Suite & Microsoft Office (productivity)
○ Samsara (driver tracking & safety)
○ Fleetio (fleet management)
○ Scale Fusion (device management)
○ Uber, Lyft, and Waymo dashboards (performance monitoring)
Collaboration & Communication
● Actively engage in meetings (camera on, fully present, and collaborative).
● Share insights and best practices across branches and departments.
● Escalate issues promptly to the appropriate teams for resolution.
● Represent your branch’s needs and achievements to senior leadership.
Role Expectations
● Maintain a presence of at least 40 hours per week, with flexibility for additional hours based on operational demands.
● Consistently demonstrate professionalism, adhering to company policies, including drug-free workplace and dress code.
● Be proactive in communication and transparent in decision-making.
● Balance operational oversight with strategic thinking, ensuring both immediate goals and long-term improvements are met.
