Job Title: Payroll Coordinator
Location: Los Angeles, CA 90010, onsite
Reports To: Payroll Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
The Payroll Coordinator will act as liaison between community business office managers, finance and human resources departments to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll.
Essential Functions:
• Shows up to work on time, as scheduled, with professional appearance and demeanor
• Demonstrates the desire to quickly resolve any/all payroll related questions, issues or concerns with the highest level of customer service and empathy
• Assists with timely training for new community payroll designated staff members, and re-training as needed on payroll systems, scheduling, HRIS, etc. as needed
• Ensures the accurate application of payroll and benefit deductions, wage garnishments, and other withholdings as required and directed
• Sets up and maintains direct deposit, and the timely delivery of final paychecks
• Kindly coaches and trains end-users ensuring full resolution of questions or problems
• Monitors systems performance, reporting issues or anomalies proactively
• Monitors employee leave time, pay changes, calculating and inputting data when necessary and reporting to HR and/or Accounting when issues arise
• Coordinates procurement of technology hardware (Timeclocks), and software (PayCor), troubleshooting issues and providing training as directed
• Follows all Payroll Policies and Procedures
• Remains current on applicable tax laws and payroll regulations (tax calculations, withholdings and their accurate reporting)
• Creates, audits and reconciles payroll reports and annual filings (W-2, 1099s, 5500s, etc.) as directed, ensuring accuracy
• Provides input on payroll related systems, hardware and software to improve efficiencies of the department
• Remains up to date on all related laws and company payroll policies
• Other duties as assigned and related to the position

Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience – Bachelors preferred
• 1-2 years of experience in a related position preferred
• Experience with payroll software - PayCor preferred – with Excel expertise
• Ability to work under deadlines and deal with work related stress
• Outstanding attention to detail – ability to audit for long periods of time
• Familiarity with standard office equipment (computers, copy machines, etc)
• Proven success maintaining professional relationships and communication
Compensation: $22-32/hour DOE
